Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator, who works with NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. She received an undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell was employed as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in the year 1967. In 1976 she was a part of the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV in Washington DC (then WTOP). She was hired by NBC News Washington two years later as general reporter. 1980 began her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Then, in 1992 she was made the Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell hosted and participated as a panelist at the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell also participated as a panelist in the 1988 debates among George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her role in protecting First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell's initial White House coverage was for NBC News, between 1981-1988. It was a time when both Ronald Reagan terms in office. She covered many notable issues, such as the arms control, budget taxes as well as the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also went to various summits while in the company of the President Reagan along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
